I must be getting old...or crazy...but I'm actually considering moving from two to three wheels. Seeing the HD military special edition (1st pic) kind of got me thinking about a bunch of things (and no, I am NOT paying that much for a trike). The body is just shot, and sometime during the last decade I went from riding just about every day to barely a few times a year. I've rode Harleys for over thirty years and have owned thirty or so different models of Harleys during that time. Long gone are the days of old though, such as what my garage looked like in the second pic, and I sold my two fairing bikes (both 2014 Street Glides in the 3rd pic) a few years ago. I went a year without a bike (first time since 1990 without at least one HD) and purchased a used '09 Softail Custom in 2020 (4th pic) from a friend's dealership (not the best riding bike by far, but it's always been my favorite model Harley, and I've owned several over the years). Still, I just don't trust the body to handle riding like I used to, so I hardly ever get out on two wheels anymore. So now that the snow is here, and I have time to not feel guilty about not riding, I'll have to do some soul searching about moving from 2 to 3 wheels. I never thought this would happen (stuff like this is only supposed to happen to other people); however, I miss riding, and this may be the only way to safely do it anymore. Sucks getting old (and blown-up multiple times). Guess I'll be like my old man, he rode with a sidecar into his eighties (actually died as a result of injuries sustained when an unlicensed kid hit him causing the bike and sidecar to flip).
Whatever it takes to stay in the wind man! (<<<reverse 3 wheeler ) Sorry to hear about your old man...least he went out doing something he obviously loved.
Built this up this past summer for my nephew who was stationed in the Middle East. I thought it might give him something to look forward to when he got back and would give me a good excuse to go riding with him when he did. I think I got the better part of that deal ;-)
My ride... have owned and ridden most every popular make over the years and enjoyed them all (well, except for that Duc 900SS) but these just seem to "fit me". This is my 4th GS:
Only you know when that time comes so kudos for realizing it. That trike really fits the theme. Share pics when you pull the trigger!
Do what you gotta do to stay safe, and not endanger those around you because of that darn aging thing!
The neighbors all had Z50's...I wanted one so bad I could taste it! Never got one though...ended up with a 3 wheeled go cart type thing...better than nothing, but that thing still sucked!
Instead of the Honda Spree, it could be the SPee Honda NQ50 - Wikipedia If they made a toilet version of this I'd call it the Asscot. Honda Ascot (motorcycle) - Wikipedia
