This 046 also has an x on the serial # like the 660 I had indicating it was pulled from the assembly line and inspected for qc. Mike (mdavlee) enlightened me on the x. Just thought that was interesting tid bit of info.

Its a cherry one. There's a video of it pulling a 32" in oak on Paul's YouTube. Plaws22. I can't get my phone to pull it up for some reason. Got it

No reflective tape. Tsumara bars are bare steel with plastic inserts to reduce weight. SugiHara's are the same way. Except they only have one row and are not staggered.

That bar is in Ohio. Brad got it from me. It is a good running stock saw.

What makes the x so desirable? Interesting, yes, but why would I shell out more for it?

I never said it was more desireable.
Dont know why uour asking that really.
I just thought it interesting. As for shelling out more for it because of the x, I never said it was worth more. A rebuilt 046 very recently sold for $600

The "x" has been mentioned a few times since the 460 stuff got brought up in this thread . So I think its a valid question...since its info thats being offered up about a saw for sale . Others..like me...are sitting here wondering the same thing ! Im a little confused I guess...if it doesnt mean anything....why would anyone care ?

Well, I thought I was pretty clear what it meant when i brought it up. I also mentioned it was just an interesting bit of info. Was I misleading or not clear?

Right. I explained that very clearly when I mentioned the x. I never insinuated it was worth more.
