Sorry about that, I'll try to repost the pics one more time. I guess this computer is smarter than I am! Junior Classy and Cee Cee Texas
Lambing season started yesterday. One ewe had ewe had a huge ram lamb that got stuck on the way out and didn't make it. Another ewe had triplets, so we were able to take one from her and give tot the other ewe who had lost hers earlier in the day. All good in the end. 5 more pregnant ewes to go.
My three year old Longhorn delivered her first calf this morning. The girls are checking it out, I can't get close enough to the little one to determine if its a heifer or bull calf.
This will be my only calf born this year, the red and white speckled cow is 23 years old and has not had a calf in many years. The red and white heifer with the small set of horns turns one year old in May and is too young to breed this year. I tried again this evening to get close enough to see if the little thing is a heifer or bull, but the Mama cow was not going to have any part of it. She will probably be less protective in a few days once the calf is more nimble.
Ya know.... something about the title of this thread... I haven’t said anything... but... oh nevah mind.
Thanks mat60, This morning I was able to determine she is a heifer. She is a tiny thing and definitely a runner....fast as lightning!
