When I’m finished adding lights I’ll post my tractor. It’s in the not shiny club. In fact there is very little paint left on floor by clutch

This thread got me thinking about needing more light for plowing in the winter. Ordered lights and wiring harness. Harness was way too short as sold. Needed an extra 13 ft. Of wire to go up Rops and forward to front of canopy (made from an old Jeep CJ hardtop that I cut up and repurposed).
Super bright floodlights. Thanks for the tip Horkn
Switch lights up blue when on.
Just stopped for today with more finishing to do but will take some picks when dark tonight.

Found a spot for a work light wired into tractor harness at bottom of right Rops so I added one.
Had bullet connectors so I got a light for that too! Haven't found a way to shut off work light on dash so till I do I just unplug a bullet connector.
I was gonna make my own harness but most wire for sale is copper clad aluminum and I want to solder everything up eventually (after this winter).
This company's harness was solid copper so I can solder it up in spring.
Thanks guys for all the info and ideas!

Ok went out and took some pics
First pic is tractors headlight then shut them off to check the led lights
Second is 2 leds to front
Third has rear work light on
Last 2 show viz from seat

you can see from the intensity of the light that I have them really angled down and they still light really far in front and rear. What a difference!

These 2 tiny LEDs were easy to install. Think I'm gonna like em.

Everything is cross-piled sideways... literally...... I'm the perfect example of what not-to-do after working in the shop. I drop every thing right where I am, and then beoch because I can't find anything later. I couldn't even guess what's in those cabinets... :D

I've never waxed either of mine and most times they are dirty from field work but they do get washed regularly. To me, my tractors are tools. I maintain them properly but wax, no way and they stay in the barn unless they need maintenance, they they go in the tractor shop attached to my machine shop.

My philosophy is, a clean and waxed tractor is a non working tractor.

This thread crossed my mind yesterday at work. We had a presentation in the conference room. This is on the first floor and our brand new building is all glass in the front. Ground to second story that is 30 feet tall in total.

There's a ton of contractors at work with all the work being done in the building. Well, one of the contractors got in his 15 yr old or so GMC truck and turned the headlights on.
He had LEDs in the halogen housings, and it was extremely bright, blinding everyone.
It was pointed right at the conference room with everyone important in it, even from our global HQ in Germany. The guy just sat in his truck with the lights on, with 50+ people in the conference room attempting to watch a presentation by our newest acquisition's president. This went on for a good minute.

Our CEO/VP picked up his phone, texted someone, and in less than 5 seconds, the guy shut off his headlights. :picard:

I suggest Headlight Revolution for LED headlights and proper alignment. Lots of video produced by them om YT. The issue with cheap Led replacement bulbs is LED alignment. The array has to mimic the filament in a halogen bulb so placement of them is critical and cheap ones don't align properly and then you get the obnoxious glare plus they have to be aimed, not just stuck in the socket. The ones I have in my pickup truck cost over 200 bucks. The cheap ones don't work, all they do is irritate other drivers and you cannot see any better with them than you can with Halogens.

People are ignorant today for the most part and don't ever take into account the feelings of others.

I have 2 KC Daylighters in the bumper cutouts on my pickup, wired directly to the battery and a dash switch and I only use them when someone is coming at me with their high beams on or cheap LED's that aren't aimed and are blinding me. Give them the benefit of the doubt and flash my high beams once or twice and if they don't get it, I turn on the daylighters. They are basically airplane landing lights and believe me, they are wicked and yes, highly illegal for on road use but one good hit of them and the oncoming driver either dims the lights or pulls over because they can no longer see anything. Works every time. They have a 1 mile range in clear weather. Weren't cheap and I bought them years ago but they do the intended job. Use them when driving on a 2 lane with no oncoming traffic too. I believe each one is 40,000 watts of power.

People today buy cheap LED replacement bulbs and have no consideration for others, same deal with the light bars. High quality, properly designed LED headlamp replacements and properly aimed don't blind people.

Tractors are different from on road vehicles. You won't be blinding other drivers with cheap, ill aimed LED's, so the sky and your alternator are the limit. The set I have on my cab tractor are wicked bright. Got them from Superbright Led and they have CREE smd's. Think they are around 3 amp per light draw but I have a 70 amp alternator and a Group 31, 1200 CCA battery. They have a 1.5 mile range on them. I can see across my fields at night. I run LED's in the headlights too. Not as good as the high mounts but I extinguish the high mounts when roading and use the regular headlights.

Never been a fan of light bars at all. Most are cheap LED's and aiming them is always iffy.

I tend to always buy CREE. They are quality SMD's and have a long life as well.
