Got my tractor ready today. It's a great feeling removing the blower and putting on the winch. IMG_4637.JPG IMG_4638.JPG

:dex:Heart is still pounding, but it's down and I am safe. No time for videos. I hooked up the come along, and put a small cut in the remaining stump. I notched the basswood and bask cut 90%, just till it popped a little. It was going to hold up both the hickory and maple. I put some good tension on come along, and notched the maple and stood back for a minute. Back cut and as soon as it wiggled, ran up the hill and all three crashed down. :dex:To myself Studied and walked it for 30 minutes and went according to plan and physics. One wild card was the rotten spot. IT held and did not crack, so I went for it. Many times I have done this with smaller trees, but safety and planning work. So glad to hear all went well! Patience, good planning and some experience (understanding how trees react) prevailed. Good job!
