Cost me $200 already cut and split. But actually free because its money earned from other CL scrounges and sells. And I can sell 2+ truck loads of the stuff >20" that is to big to fit in the stove and make my money back. 80% oak, ash, elm. Rest pine and popple (will sell that to) Forgot to take a pic of the 1st, but here is 2 and 3: Strapping the logs over the splits worked great to keep them in place. Probabaly another 4-5 loads yet! Stacked out to about 2/3 of a cord in each load give or take, not including the logs. This brings me to 13.5 cords with whats stacked. Have about a half cord of stuff that needs to be run through the splitter so far that was too big for my liking. And probably a 1/3rd cord of logs maybe more. I'm beat to say the least!! Now enjoying some! Gonna try to get 2 more loads tomorrow.
The trailer belongs to my inlaws. Wish it was mine. I would like something with sides on it better though! In time I will have one! Gotta get the house finished first. Going back after more this weekend. It was just too hot last weekend! Hope to get 3 more loads at least. Ended up with just shy of 2 cords of oak, ash, elm, and cherry mix; and a halfish cord of pine so far. Very few pieces were too long and only about 1/4 of it needed to be re-split. Pretty easy work. Look for more pics this weekend!
Well, got most of it worked up now except for a pile of stuff thats too log and 8 ft logs on a trailer. Have 3 full cord out of it so far (forgot a pic of the 1/2 cord I stacked to finish a row in the other part of the yard) Heres a pile of too longs with some splits under it that need some trimming. And finally the last trailer full of decent sized logs that need to be cut to length. A good 2 cords of it was stackable immediately so saved quite a bit of work there! I'm quite pleased to have gotten all this for $50 a cord. It will be free by the time I sell the pine I really don't need.
