That's how it was for me I heard all these Great things about the regular Okies ( red bag) for years I couldn't get my hands on them Finally they made it to PA a nice pellet ,but for me @ the cost they didn't perform any better than the cheaper stuff :( my bubble was burst . I will try the DF's and see what happens :D

The DF are good, nice to burn with the heat and low ash. But so are the LaCretes and Spruce Pointes that aren't DF. I haven't burned LG's but have heard good things about them. So they don't have to be DF to be a very good pellet.

It is amazing how, during the summer at least, most threads end up with everybody having a cold brew.

summer???!!!! got the shock of my life yesterday! walked into my local super market and it's Christmas in July. Turkey's, Prime Rib and of course my favorite, Hot Buttered Rum mix. seems like we just went through that. Oh well, out here in the great Pacific Northwest, we at least get to look at the snow all year, just that it's on the mountain's where it belongs. Just got my first ton of Olympus delivered, now I have to flip a coin between, Bear Mountain, Blazers, or Clean Burn.

Pricing is on a "Need to know" basis, and you don't need (want) to know. It would break your heart! Pellets cost a lot to transport and we are very close to many major producers.
for instance here's are mills and the miles from me>
    Okies Platinum- 226 miles
    Olympus 179 miles
    Clean burn 132 miles
bear Mountain ( okie firs) 306 mile
    Blazers 250 miles.
    We are very lucky.

I hear ya Man , it is the shipping costs that make them sooo pricey here in the East , :hair: okie firs are $380 / ton on sale over $400 regular price . I won't be having a ton of them in my stash , just a few bags to try.

So what is the per bag price, $10? I'll be dammed if I pay $10 for a bag of pellets.

I live 15 miles from Lake Erie and yellow perch costs 15 dollars a pound. Close proximity does not always mean cheap!

Most Mainer's wouldn't think about eating a Tiger Trout. White perch, yes, yellow perch, no.
