Lack of maintenance always amazes me.

Upstate why sharpen before and after? If you sharpen after its sharp when you go to start??? Maybe I am missing something

To be fair, they had many go through that had proper oil changes with the cabs and heads off. Ford really f'd up those motors and cured me of buying a diesel pickup when I bought a new one.

True. But my point was somebody dropped 60k on a truck and didn't change the oil. Note the "sick leaker (six litre)" comment.

Its like walking to school up hill both ways in the snow....

I usually sharpen before I put it away. If it has been a while since I used that particular saw I may give it a few strokes on principle. MOre than likely it was already sharp, but just in case, ya know...

Might be a case where someone else could use his saws before he gets a chance to. We've all learned the hard way how letting others borrow things normally only leads to BAD things. Giving you a way out here Upstate.

More or less really. I sharpen the saw before I use it and go over it quickly once or twice in case my neighbor up the hill needs it. He doesnt have a file so I figure it couldn't be worse than letting him burn up my saw. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though.:D
