Thanks. No backhoe. I'm more worried about the $$$. Looking at ~$800-1000 for the pair plus the fill. Glad they wear much slower.

I did the same thing and it is so handy to squirt some from the valve stem on my glasses while out working.

I think I'm done cutting for firewood (logs) for the year. I'm suspicious about leaving it in log form (especially cut in spring) for any length of time, like next fall or winter. Even stacked up off the ground, I feel it degrades some.
Now to process it, get it on my racks and top cover it. 20200502_102222.jpg

The area along the stream was pasture when we bought the place. It was a grass bank with no trees. In 2002 we put it into WHIP, with 30’ banks, and were allowed to mow only 6’ on the stream side of the fence (they paid for the fence, we agreed to keep cattle out of the stream and allow trees to grow to shade the water and keep stream temp down, to favor brook trout). The contract has long expired, and we mow more inside, but are trying to get nice trees to grow. Mostly Alders, a few Apple, a few Hawthorn.
