Putting the little Kubota to bed for its long winter nap! What heck is with the price of hydraulic/ hydrostatic filters?
MX5200. Love that thing. Woodmaxx chipper on the back. Love that thing too. Clearing for a blind / food plot.
It's about 2 years old. Not a problem yet. Feeding it up to 8" thick stuff. I don't miss having to burn brush.
Yep. I just spent over $300 at Messicks for 2 filters and 10 gal oil to change the hydraulic system on my L3710 HST. At least I think (?) the Kubota OEM filters are better than aftermarket??? Admittedly, the dealership has a vested interest in selling OEM
I hear you on the Kubota oils and filters. I spent $300 the major service on my RTV last spring. It was 5 years old and had 260 hours-figured it was time. Really, if that is the maintenance cost every 5 years, I won't complain. Not looking forward to the 400 hour on the L3560- may have to take out a loan for 10-12 gallons of Super UDT, 2 gallons of Rotella T-6, and all the filters!!
My brother is a New Holland Master Mechanic, he says to spread out the intervals on the hydraulic changes. Change the filters but not the oil. Homeowner use isn’t like farm use.
I did the motor oil and filter recently. I was able to get Rotella on sale at the local autoparts store. It helped ease the pain. Maybe keep an eye on the sale flyers.
Very nice looking equipment. But I don't think I could drive our 4 wheeler around our flat farm with my saw bar exposed like that and not find a way to catch it on something and bend it.
Kubota recommends changing one of the filters ( hydraulic service or transmission-can't remember which) at 50,200, and 400. The 400 hour is the "big" one, with both hydraulic filters and fluid to be changed. I will keep an eye out for sales on Rotella. I think I paid $22 a gallon at WalMart last spring-not much of a difference from any other oil-I think a gallon of straight 30 weight must be at least $10.
Welcome aboard viking59 Nice setup you have there. Don't think my little BX25d would be up to the task of running that chipper. But it'd sure be handy.
Water pump locked up on are 7200 after 30 years or so of dependable use. First major problem this tractor has ever had.
Well geez, only 30 years????!!!!!!! Better get on their website and complain!!!!! It does look accessible at least.
If I remember correctly, they recommend ~45HP to run the WM8H chipper wide open. Never seen a slowdown on th MX5200 running at PTO speed. Has a 200# flywheel, so PTO has to be engaged at idle. Hydraulic fully adjustable feed.
