Looks great! I got in a bunch of mowing over the weekend. Looks so nice once it’s done!

Got too slippery to work up on the hill yesterday so once the rain let up I tracked it down to a piece of pasture that could do with fewer rocks.

Little heads up for everyone, especially those with Kubota T4 engines. The new engines are extremely sensitive as far as diesel fuel quality, so touchy that Kubota is no adding 'fuel polishing' units to them between the fuel tank and the first fuel filter. We have had a couple in the shop with emissions issues and it has all been related to fuel contamination. It appears that contaminated fuel (emulsified water) is getting past the first spin on filter as well as the secondary bowl filter and is playing hell with the high pressure fuel rail system and Kubota is very hesitant about warranting it saying the owners are responsible for clean uncontaminated fuel. I fuel both of mine from a 500 gallon bulk tank and I take special care with my fuel. Even so I added a Racor style fuel polishing unit to each of them between the fuel tank and the initial fuel filter. I bought a pair of Chinese knockoff's from Amazon but bought genuine Parker Racor spin on filters with their patented 'Aquablock; technology. The Parker Racor filters screw right on the Chinese knockoff base and the clear bottom bowl threads on the bottom of the filters.

You can pick up one on Amazon for about 30 bucks and the Parker-Racor filters are about 30 on there and on the Racor Store.

I'm using R12T filters, which are rated for 15 gph, well within the parameters of my turbocharged VTE engines.

Keep in mind that the OEM spin on fuel filter only filters down to 80 microns while the Parker Racor filters, filter down to 30 microns and you can get 10 micron filters as well.

I also added nylon in filler neck strainers to keep any junk from entering the fuel tanks as well. Your Kubota dealer will have them or can get them and they cost about 10 bucks each and are universal fit.

The Parker-Racor filters strip out any water in the fuel and deposits it in the clear bowl below the filter where you have a visual of it and can drain it off via a built in petcock on the bowl.

I did 2 threads on Tractor Bynet under Kubota owning and operating if you want to read them there. Remember I work part time an my local Kubota dealership so I get to see various 'carnage' issues.

Additionally, I'd recommend adding a Racor style polishing unit to any make of tractor that has high pressure electronic rail injection.

I probably should add (forgot to), but there are 2 types of Racor Filters, there are ones for gasoline only and ones for diesel fuel only and you want the 12T series diesel only filters The other 12 series is for gasoline only and won't work. Easy to install too. Just mount it in any convenient place (the entire assembly is 10" long with the filter in place and run the fuel line from your tank to the inlet on the filter base and the output goes to your primary filter. The engine lift pump will pull the fuel through the filter. Mounted mine on the right hand loader upright where I can see it easily.

One of these days I'm gonna buy one myself but a tad bigger. I just got done working on a Doosan with an articulating upper boom, never seen one before. The owner about destroyed the bucket and I rebuilt it for him. Have a feeling it will be back when the weather turns cold. It needs all the bushings replaced, probably the pins too. Has a real friendly boom and dipperstick, it waves at you.

Did a little mowing in the field around our daughter's house last week. See our 'bota knows something besides logging firewood. 24948.jpeg

Oh, it was used in that field. A 6-8" hackberry had fallen and had to be moved, usually some pecan limbs are out there too.

I would have cut, raked and baled that for hay and sold it. Round bales here are through the roof, averaging 50 per 4x5 round in net. Makes me cringe when I see stuff like that being shredded....

Don't forget to blow out your rad from the fan side towards the front as well as the oil cooler and check your air cleaner element as well. I do all that every time I cut and bale hay.

I use a Radiator Genie (Amazon) to blow out the rads with air first and then I soak the rad down with a water / dish washing detergent mix in a sprits bottle, let it sit a few minutes, followed by the rad genie switched over to water to flush out any crud. the detergent breaks down any crud and allows it to be flushed away. Do the same deal with out whole house ac condenser unit outside. A clean condenser unit is way more efficient and helps keep the ever increasing electric bill sane (somewhat).....:D

I got my BX 2660 stuck once and felt real bad about it. A guy I knew came by to help me get it out and left me with these great and wise words: "If you ain't got your 'bota stuck at least once, you ain't ah runnin" hit rite!"

Just think about how much of that is living in your air filter and housing.

I have to say I've never gotten mine stuck but then I don't play in the mud with them, they farm.

Actually I was surprised how much there wasn't in there considering how dirty the tractor was.
We finally got some rain, so not bad at all now, thankfully!

This is great advice. I’m heading back to the hunt property to use my 50 year old Massey Ferguson 135 to bush hog about 5 acres of 4-5’ tall growth.
I’ts been getting slightly high on the temp gauge to the point I’ve had to stop and let it cool down.

I never let it go very long before blowing out from the inside out, not outside in with low pressure compressed air and I always wipe down the cannister inside with an oily rag too. The oiled walls provide another dust collection surface. Mine get replaced every 2 years, the outer as well as the inner. Not that much in cost.

Neither of my M9's have ever gotten that dirty. I'm anal about dirty tractors. Most of my dirt collects on the back side from switching out hydraulic connectors that all my hay tools require and every time I disconnect the, a bit of fluid comes out and runs down the back and collects dirt. That and my ever present cat paw prints on the hoods.
