That's why I prefer steel roofing, a bit more money, but my last one has a 50 year rust through warranty

I saw this thread a couple of days ago and decided to give my tractor a good once-over to look for similar premature wear. This tractor lives on a small/part time farm, and moves a lot of snow, firewood, manure, and gravel to repair the driveway and woods roads. We bought it new, 10 yr ago, so it is a lot younger than the OP’s (just over 2000 hr). Here’s the most shocking thing I could find - do you suppose the warranty on the paint job has run out?

About 7 years ago I gave up the shingle route and installed 24 ga standing seam metal roof with a 50 year guarantee. No exposed screws and 30 year no fade guarantee and guaranteed not to dent up to 2 1/2" hail and guaranteed to 140 mph winds. I like it in coppertone. We then put a bright blue standing seam on the SIL's house and shop next door to me. Good stuff.
