Ok, what if the rippers weren't so deep, just roughing up the surface? I'll look on Craigslist as well for some used plows

Works great for that. Roots make it difficult. Are you working a field or making one?

It's gotta be nothing but beautiful topsoil "over there". It seem's those stinking glaciers carried every rock from NH to my place.

A box blade is a very versatile accessory. It is the best tool for maintaining a lane and is ideal for converting rough land into pasture. You really can't go wrong with a box blade. However, when I bought mine, I had about 800 ft of gravel lane to maintain. Shortly thereafter, my neighbor paved the lane. Now, I use my box blade for working cleared forest lands into pasture and as ballast for FEL work.

That explains all the sand we got! :D

Oh, we got rock. Pretty much wasted my money renting a post hole digger for 4- 13"x60" holes that i ended up doing by hand anyway. Had to dig additional 3 ft wider to pull a small boulder out. (Couldve used the tractor for this, but the winch in the atv eventually helped it out)

Well Seasoned Congratulations on the new tractor, you'll get so much use out of it, the third function valve was a good option to get. I got a grapple with my tractor last year, it's been great for moving logs. Same goes for brush piles, no more handling the brush, just grab it and pile where you want to. My grapple is a Fransgard SK1400. I got it through my dealer for $1650. They also offer the SK 950 which is about 210lbs, mine is 463lbs. KIMG0256.jpg KIMG0378.jpg KIMG0260.jpg

Most definitely build your shed high enough to get the tractor in. Also make sure it's wide enough and then some to get in without coming close to sides ( just in case you have a few beers on your way back from the woodlot) ok so that info is definitely first hand. Lol KIMG0202.jpg

Yes, I did. The filter setup on the BX is not as good as the B setup. Some guys actually use the B series filter on their BX. The filter I used is a Racor 120AT, it is also a water separator. The filter setup on the B is fine. I've never heard of it giving problems but there is always room for improvement. A Racor 120AT would be a nice upgrade for you. I do think most diesels are lacking on the fuel filtration. I have another Racor 120AT for the L4240, but it still needs installed. If you do decide to do a Racor, watch out for knock offs.

If a tiller is out of reach, I'd look for a 5' or 6' disc (or wider if its not 3 pt) and a york rake with tires. I could see where maintaining a gravel driveway might be easier with a box blade, but it's a non-issue after a good rain with the york rake. Plus it doubles to level your food plots behind a disc.

I'm just guessing here but in your area you may also want to look at buying a load or two of black dirt or top soil.

Gasifer, were almost next door neighbours. I'm in Ellenburg. My Kubota m5660 came from Snell in Malone.

With the box I sill need a rake to finish. I think there are some good York rakes out there with rippers and a blade. If you already have the field I think that I would look that way. I have and they ain’t cheap. But then again what is.

Pushed some snow with the grizzly and moved some piles with the Kubota tonight. I think i was better at running it the day i got it than tonight. Good thing no one was around. I need more practice with the loader so the Kubota doesn't hump the ground. :D
