On my L2501 it is on the left side of the block towards the rear by starter.

The EGR cooler takes up that spot. From what I’ve seen I’ll have to knock out a freeze plug then install a threaded insert. I’m going to call dealer Monday with serial number and go that route.

I have a L3301 with the package from ESI the Kubota dealer out of Fairbanks. It use's a pig tail with 3 connections, I will get some pics for you in the next few days, next time I get it outside. Not much light in the garage in a box.

Edit: I am not sure of the location of the block heater, also has a pad heater on the pan and a trickle on the battery. The coldest I started is -26* and with HST I am guessing something is on the hydraulics, starts way to well, the FEL works way to well for cold fluid. I will see if I can trace cords and figure it out.

My heater was suppose to be installed by dealer when I purchased the tractor they forgot to install I called and they sent a service tech to do the install (no charge} I was not at home when he came but apparently it did not take long to install.

I appreciate it. From what I’ve figured out it’s behind a side panel on left side

What about just a magnetic oil pan heater?

I have the 3901 and have thought about 2 magnetic heaters: 1. On the oil pan, and 2. on the Hydraulic sump

I’ve thought about that but I like the idea of heating water more so than oil.

I’ve looked on both some. Lots of videos and information there. But I didn’t find my model with the tier 4 emissions. I ordered a service manual. I got busy at work and forgot to call dealer to order heater but planning on it tomorrow.

Here you go, you can see where this plugs into a port it doesn’t look like a freeze plug. Plus I have a oil pan pad and a trickle charger. You can see a 2 foot pig tail was used to plug in, it’s nice and out of the way. I will look closer, if it is it’s a very tight, neat connection all other freeze plug units were way bigger. The ones I have seen as a port are more like this one very close and neat, in the block vs water.

Is it a freeze plug or dry port?

It’s a freeze plug. It goes in the same place as yours.

Good to know. I read above that the plug last about 1,000 hours. I am going to get a spare, you know how that works.

Once you do the initial install it will be a easy fix. The actual block heater threads in. I don’t think I would even drain the anti freeze for that. Just a quick switch of parts.

08B77C11-50CE-4801-A0C3-0CF13491FCCC.jpeg The yellow X is on the freeze plug I had to remove. I drained the antifreeze and Just installed block heater and fired it up and brought up to temp. No leaks so far :D
