I like it with a sausage like hillshire farms. Brown the sausage in a cast skillet the cook with kraut.

Oh I like all kinds of "pizza". Had you listed the bacon and more bacon plus cheese I couldn't maybe got behind it. Lol

And yes, this crust is king.

Speaking of wild pizza, this is one of the best I've had, traditional or off the wall pizza included. Local place.

I agree. While I really like kraut, it don't belong on a pizza.

When I do a pork roast in the oven, I place kraut in the bottom of the pan to catch all the drippings from the meat. I mix it with applesauce prior to roasting. I've also enjoyed it mixed into potato pancakes with applesauce topping. I'm sure it can be used in a non-potato pancake of some variation. Possibly mix it into a bread recipe like zucchini bread.

    Dont like sauerkraut.

If you like mint, combine a mint tea bag with the green one and make a larger cup. I have this with some sugar before my coffee every morning. Ive made iced tea this way too.

I love it. I could eat it straight. I prefer the stuff that’s sold cold; I think it has a better flavor and more goodness in it. I find the stuff that’s sold in jars and at room temp tends to not have as good of a flavor. And I think the preserving of it removes some of the benefits of fermenting.

We have a great Asian Market in town that has some legit kimchi. Another thing I could eat straight.

For kraut, I like putting some in a wrap with some turkey and a a little Carolina BBQ sauce.

While I haven’t had it it in years, kraut and kielbasa is always a winner. The real deal kielbasa you get from the local place.

The green tea I brew has mint in it. I can't really get the standard stuff down without turning it into sugar water. The Green/mint is 'ok' with a teaspoon of honey.

I've heard of the health benefits of ferments and wondered how I could get it down as well. But haven't ever been able to do sauerkraut or kimchi. Perhaps I should somehow try again and see if my tastes have changed. Was hoping for some real enlightenment in this thread!

I like raw kraut on a hard roll with kielbasa. My favorite though is to brown home style pork ribs along with a large chopped onion til the onion is transparent. Dump a jar of kraut on top and bake until tender. Serve with buttered biscuits. Very tasty!

Mashed taters works great. I lost that trick to oxalate content of taters.

Every tried kombucha? Supposedly has some good benefits. Never tried it myself. I have a former colleague who makes his own and I’ve seen it around at more and more at stores these days.

A guy at work had some (store bought) and let me try it. Tasted rotten to me. The wife used to have some keifer, that was doable...not sure if that's the same concept though....

Yeah, I guess I should find some that's supposed to be "good" and give it a fair shake....

Hahaha, I actually don't drink much. Maybe a 12-18 pack of beer a year (usually get a case of Sam Adam's octoberfest), maybe a couple a year from events. I'll get in a bourbon and mixer swing for a while, and have one a night (or maybe 4-ish a week) for a while, or rum.... But I then I may go for a couple months and barely have any.

I'll drink kombucha a couple times a month. I'm definitely a fan of the ginger flavor as it has a nice kick. The only other fermented thing I'll consume is homemade fermented hot sauce, but it's not like I can drink that on a hot day if I'm feeling parched :picard:

I tried kefir. I usually love all dairy, but that stuff is hard to get down. Liquid off-tasting sour cream is what I got from it. lol Have not experienced kimche or kombucha.

It was supposed to be strawberry flavored. I figured I could cope. lol They drink tons of this stuff in Europe. I could probably acclimate but inital trial was not well received.
