Plot twist. What do you do 30 miles from home when you find chestnut oak and your bed is full of cottonwood? I don’t know about any of you, but I swap it out

Come to think of it I might've done the same even though I'm not an oak fan as everyone knows. I've only had CO twice and loved splitting and sniffing it. My favorite among all the oaks.

Besides if that's near your work you can grab it next time.

100% agree. White and/or chestnut oak is my all around favorite. Under normal circumstances white oak is rare for me, and chestnut oak even more so, so when the opportunity comes I have to seize it.

I think I've only had 3 scores of it over the years myself, and never had more than 1/3 cord on hand at any given time. I'm hoping the rest of the wood stays put for a couple weeks anyway. But if not, I won't lose any sleep. Plenty of wood in the stacks, and plenty rounds/quarters at home that still need to be processed.
