I work with firearms, firearm accessories and optics everyday in the Brownells Retail Store (Grinnell, Iowa) and had never heard of or seen plastic rings. There is always something new that Ive never heard of so thats why I was curious. Certainly meant no disrespect or anything.
Not at all!! No Worries! He already glued them down, can he put on stainless steel rings if you can get them or is that permanent?
Most likely. Will need to know ring height(low, medium, high, extra high). Looks like a medium or high is what you're after. I'll check and c what we have. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk
There's your answer. My buddy it's a lefty, and he does everything left handed. Cuts with chainsaw lefty, shoots, writes, lefty too.
Thank you, he said since it's already done he's going to leave the black rings as they are. Appreciate it though!
So do you have any spare 1" scope rings to fit on that picatinny rail? I ask because if you do, and they'll be paper weights sitting in a drawer forever, I could use them on my ruger10/22 that my dad gave me year's ago. I just need the rings and a picatinny rail which is easy to find cheap around here.
No problem. I was coming up short on 30mm rings in stainless anyway. Plenty of options in black. The scope is black so that matches up fine in my opinion. Sent from my SM-G930VL using Tapatalk
I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous I am mostly left handed. But golf and bat right. My brother only writes left, but everything else is right. it makes it fun to gun shop, to look for left hand guns. I have a lefty 870 Remington, .243 Remington 788, and Savage in .308. I bought the Savage only to win a Kimber in .308 in a raffle a week later. Most modern pistols are equipped with ambi mechanisms now. don’t fret that the child may be a lefty. Left hand folks adapt to right hand stuff and make it work as a second nature. Put a left hand gun in the hands of a righty, and they will be confused.
That's what I end up doing. I've got 3 Ruger Stainless rifles with the black composite stocks. My all weather m77 mark II bolt action 7mm rem mag is the only one that has stainless steel rings to match the action and barrel. Even then, the scope is black, so whatever. You can find stainless or silver colored scopes, but they are difficult to find the exact one you want and even then they are a bit more expensive for no real reason.
It's been too long but finally had a refresher on my 1913 tonight. Mistake safety wise right off the bat but did well on safety the rest of the time, except I kept automatically moving back to wrong grip so left thumb a bit beat up. I need to regain some arm/upper body strength That's a big order for me, I've been riding on my once very strong body for all these years and strength is mostly gone, and almost impossible to exercise It was harder this time, too, WWW hung the target higher (That said I think with an adrenaline rush I could get the job done.
