In Cincinnati it's a Cheese Coney, or mettwurst with sauerkraut. Ketchup? I thought that was for children only.

Now if I must have a plain disgusting pink slime hot dog at a grill out, and for some reason a burger isn't available, mustard it is.

I say NAY to ketchup. Might as well be six years old.  :wacky:

Woebbers makes an amazing stoneground/horseradish based mustard that will smack yo momma in the mouth.
Sabretts (the real, not the Nathan’s knockoff), then Nathan’s, then Hebrew National.
Steamed is best. Steamed bun, too.

Hey, it's a Maine thing and I've been assimilated.

The dogs at Martinsville speedway are purty good too!

Overwhelmingly mustard so far. I’m actually surprised that three or four people said ketchup

Only thing better than ketchup on a hot dog is ketchup on my mac & cheese... LOL

I save the smooth yellow mustard for on my green beans. YUM...

    Hmm...I'd try it.

I can recall a upstate afternoon where 5 men split and stacked at least 3 cords , it was time for lunch when the host was appalled that one of the guests had covered all the freshly grilled hot dogs with ketchup.

    In order of preference..

    Chili & cheese
Texas Hot & spicy brown mustard
    Kraut (- onions)
    Ketchup
Edit.. This is merely a hot dog, not a steak

Onions accompany most of the above whenever available.
