Today I got 2 more loads of chips and I got talking with Willie the driver. Asked him if it was still around $30.00 to get rid of chips at the dump.
Nope $100.00 for the small truck and $150.00 for the larger truck.
Was really surprised it went up so much!
Boy was it cold out there spreading chips. Smelled great though.

I used to get lots of wood at the dump, but since they raised their fees there's hardly anything. There are still lots of chip trucks, heading to the non-public part of the dump.

At our town dump you can take the wood but no sawing. The logs are so big you’d need a payloader to lift em.
They charge a lot to dump chips then they process it a couple of times mixing it with chopped up leaves and give away the resulting mulch. It is good mulch too and brown in color.
Some of the local nurseries get it there for free by the truckload and sell it.
My mom (92) actually bought a few yards and had it delivered to her house. I thought my head would explode. I was sitting next their huge dump truck waiting to get my pickup loaded with mulch while their truck was filled.
