I was wondering if you can do a favor for me Mr. Reloader ? When you take a break from cutting there, can you take in the view for me? How close to home is your honey hole? How much wood is left to cut and will you cut it all since its been sitting for a few years?
It’s less than 1/2 mile from the house to the wood piles if I take the quad up the trail Maybe 3/4 if I take the pickup on the road. More wood up there than I can ever cut as it is starting to go bad. Possibly the last year of cutting but I might be able to salvage some next year if it doesn’t all rot. It’s not the best, but I really don’t mind burning it as it heats our little home fine. If I sell some, I sell it fairly cheap and am always up front with the buyers about the poor quality. After that, I’ve got about two acres of Alder forest that should keep me in firewood for home use for a while. Then it will be back to scrounging like everybody else has to. The road on the property up above is maintained by the power company and is the only access through a state owned forest next to this property so they let me salvage wood when they clear the road. Lots of logging in the local area so there are permits available from the state. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
nice views!! Does the older dry wood hit the chain a little harder? My chains go a bit quicker on the hard dry stuff. Nice pictures!!!
