Do you still have this chainsaw? If yes, can you answer to my question? You made some changes, after all?
Leroy I do still have it in my arsenal. I carry around in the truck most every day going from job to job. Landscaping in some of these old neighborhoods in Eastern NC with the old pines I never know when I limb might have decided to drop down. Makes a great limbing/light duty saw. It took maybe an hour or so running it to get the adjustments on the carb where I felt like they needed to be. Once I got the carb fine tuned she started running great. Have noticed after the mods the saw doesn't want to bog down quite as bad on the initial bite going in to a larger limb. Has a hair bit of a quicker rev from idle to WOT. Other that it didnt much at all. Was it worth it? If you have the time on a rainy day to tinker around on it I think it was a decent investment on the time it took. Wish I had time to tinker around on mod the ports or at least smooth/polish them and maybe bevel the edges. I'm still interested in what that would do. Might try it if it snows this winter and I have a day in the shop to mess around. Did you have any questions on it? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
Thank u for reply. I own this jonsered cs2238, it is under warranty for some months, after that if I will succeed to open the muffler, I'll do these modifications shown on one of your photo. For me it is good enough this type of chainsaw, I don't have too much wood to cut. Have a nice day!
Bumping this since I had one given to me last night. Also, the guy gave me a used Stihl 25" bar and chain. I let him use my Bridgeport to mill an 80% AR lower a few years ago. I did that as a favor, not expecting anything in return. He apparently didn't forget. This saw was given to him, as was the bar and chain. He said it stalls in the cut. I'll have to dig into it later. I won't mind having a little limbing saw around.
