Nice, good on you for avoiding the AE, I hate that stove (as a service tech, and as a service tech that cares about his customers).
Yes and yes, most ash vacs SUCK IMO unless you buy the $1000 one from Copperfield, which weighs a TON and is HUGE lol.

That is one very sophisticated install. You should be very happy with it for many, many years to come. Read the manual over and over until you are really familiar with it. You will be informed and comfortable with your burning experience.

It might be fun to have a "tips" thread. This is valuable information!

I agree, I could tell you all kinds of nasty little things about the "AE" version of the MT Vernon. It's not a terrible stove, but it can be incredibly difficult or almost impossible to diagnose, even when you are on the phone with tech support.

Isn't that against "Moderator" rules to alter someone else's post?

My salesman was actually pushing us away from the AE. Said he wouldn't sell one to his worst enemy. But then again you know how salesmen are!:):)

No, if he sold you the E2 he had you, his service tech, and his own piece of mind in best interest. Good guy  you saved money and headaches, he saved his own companies headache at the same time. Don't get me wrong, it's a good stove and it has some great creature comforts but when they have problems they can be hard to track down.

As a service tech my least favorite situation is not being able to fix the stove the day of the call in winter when people are cold. That is the only stove that has really given me any hell or any call backs.
