Hyundai excavator was pushing a tree over and a nearby hickory came in the cab....forestry package is on order

572 is alive and runs well,ran a tank thru it this am

 

Supposed to get a nor'easter tonite and tomorrow with up to 3"+ rain and t-storms,so I ran a few tanks thru the 572 that was under surveillance. Blocked up enough wood so I can sit in the machine and split while it's raining tomorrow. Put the splitfire on Bobby Joe.

 

1.54" so far at the compound

 

2" rain wind no power

Ruh Roh.....

 

10 years of use and my hookaroon broke...I veed it out and going to weld it...there was a roll pin right where it broke,we shall see if it works as aluminum is always some mystery alloy

 

Nice fix!

 

What's the purpose of the roll pin at the break? I can see the one in the head holds the hook in, but can't figure why they'd put one in the handle.

 

Idk,there's a solid aluminum insert that goes in the handle a couple inches,the new one the pin is farther back suggesting the insert is longer.these look like rebranded logrites. No complaints from me it has been used and abused for 10-15 years,used for a pry bar alot.
