    Is it big enough to bust open the decent sized log in your first picture?
    Every few years I look at them on eBay or somewhere and every time I question if it's wide enough. I don't have any big wood growing on my land, but a tree guy will give me the big ugly knarley crotches.

    I bought just the cone from Atom splitter for my electric splitter. I call it model screw-U-2.

    Yeah that sugar maple chunk was almost 100% knots prolly 36"-40" about 2 ft long it was going in the burn pit so I busted it up a little and salvaged some fire wood chunks out of it.
    Yeah it'll split stuff like that no problem...you need to be able to reverse your flow so you can unscrew.....only trouble I have is hitting some punky spots inside the log that you cant see from the outside....then you lose your splitting power the cone just sinks in.
