I have been watching it, on and off, for decades and while I missed both Jennings and Rutter, I think this current guy is really something to watch. Like watching Babe Ruth or Ted Williams tickle a baseball, just a different 'game'. This guy's breadth and depth of knowledge is absolutely beyond anything else I have ever seen, and I have had the pleasure of working with some truly gifted, able people. So if you have on and off access to the show, NOW is the time to watch IMO! And one thing that is truly impressive is that in those rare times when James does NOT know, he does NOT ring in- in this regard, he is almost more impressive than when he knows the answer. The man almost never rings in and answers incorrectly. And I am also glad that Alex is well and hosting while James is a contestant; given Mr. Trebek's recent health situation, it is great that James is on now, rather than some later time. Alex Trebek seems to be truly enjoying watching this guy "show us how it is done", just as many of us are but he is kinda' Jeopardy 'in the flesh' so to speak. Brian
Just caught the news and apparently, the New York Times reported on the outcome of 'tonight's' game. I will not repeat it here though and let it unfold as the show airs for those of you watching. Brian
Thought the same. Heard his daughter didn't want him to win anymore. Maybe he did it for her. The woman was good though (forgot her name).
I read the same thing apparently she was crying daily and wanted him to lose. 2.3 million for a couple weeks (days, film 5 shows a day) work.
Agree it is fixed, not just tonight but the entire run! My wife has taught me not to believe television!
Yeah, he gave up. There was another game that had the other contestant bet all on Final, he would have won. Like the gal who knock off Jennings, she will likely last another match or two.
Totally fixed! Agree about the family pressure to end it, but also wonder how much he actually won by losing.
And that is the worst part: the people who eventually win against these long- run players usually only last a game or two. Maybe James Holzhauer just had enough? Playing on that level must be like being sequestered on a jury- living in a hotel and / or lots of travel, you cannot say anything to anyone (the show is taped well in advance of being aired).... the whole thing must get old after a while.
Except you don't have 2.5 Million Dollars when the trial is over! Personally, I don't think I would ever give up if I could work a half an hour a day and bring home over $30,000 each day!
