I was able to get out for a couple hours with my 362 and got about half of a large oak cut up. I still have the large part of the trunk waiting for me. Shoulder isn't 100% but it is OK as long as I don't overdo it. Thanks for asking.
East Haddam was the source tree. Once i got the hang of assembly it was easy with the brad nailer. I looked it up and 4x8 cedar lattice sheets bring $60-75. The thought crossed my mind of making some. Lots of 3/8" thick slices in those logs. Kinda wish we had sliced some 1x4 from that 4x4 for these.
Sounds like a plan. I need some of the same for myself for a cedar chest the wife would like restored . It was her mothers but over the years someone painted it , why? My plan is to cut some and rip it into strips and then run them through the planer and use them to re-skin the outside , really not a lot of options and sanding is never going to clean it up. Have to get working on it before the weather takes a turn for the worse.
Couple hours yesterday. Milled a big oak for some 1.5" slabs. Small cedar for lath stock which ill make more lattice. buzz-saw has more pics of the finished oak. He did some sorting of the log pile. Balancing act stacking the logs!
Have you guys used Ripper 37 blades? I ran my first over the weekend and it was night and day compared to the oem blades. Jerry’s resharp is the online store to buy them.
I have some to try. Been running Cooks ultra 10 with good results. Maybe next session I will try Jerry’s. OEM blades seemed to be so-so.
I spent two weeks chasing wavy cuts thinking I had a level issue. I ran strings, bought a new level and digital angle gauge. Two brand new blades, still a wavy cut. I vary by 0.2degrees so I ordered these blades. Perfect cut and I mean perfect. I still have a random head vibration/shake but the oem blades are not for me. The overall mill, no complaints
