I am impressed that you were able to get a draft started in this heat...must have a proper chimney!

It is similar in a way to the Fireview. I've not known of any having a log fall on the glass. It certainly has never been a problem with us. And btw, the firebox size is not much different from the Fireview. Good stoves.

I'll predict that Dave will have another fire and a bigger fire in 8 weeks.

    Looks great Dave.

I did have a round un split roll and hit glass on IS.. Daughter loaded a 5 inch round on top:jaw:.. It rolled and hit glass door.

    A quick physics class:whistle:

No damage.. made a bang.. Airwash on glass did not work for that burn.. Glass got black.. No other issues

    I’m marking my calendar.....

I’ll have to find more than just a few sticks from the yard...... maybe.

    Looking good!

We were camping 10 min from the Woodstock factory this past weekend. On the they way home I made a quick turn off the highway to take a look at the AS in person and to see how recieptive the wifey would be. We did not pull the trigger but she has brought it up in convo at least twice since.

I take that as a go!

I put just a small handful of twigs from the front yard. Maybe a bundle 8-10” in diameter and 12” long. Let it burn on high.. lasted about 20 minutes. I couldn’t put my hands on the top or sides of stove for the next 3 hours. It raised the house temp 3 degrees with the windows open. I’m hoping to see great things this winter. Just hope I have enough dry wood for it.

Going into year 3 with mine, I love it. It's not my 24X7 stove, as it's in the basement/family/laundry room, that's the Fv in the living room. But this is a great stove for those under 10'F days when we want warmth downstairs as well as up. Absolute Steel Hybrid 1.jpg

I’ll be honest, I don’t really care for the looks of the IS or AS stoves. For me they look too hard along the edges. Also not a big fan of all the “extra” art work either...but that stove pictured above is growing on me...as is the art work. The colors seem to fit each other nicely. I bet she’s a heating beast though.

There is a lot of different design you can choose from.

Another thing I jus my thought of with that stove with regard to my hearth...4 1/2 inches of stone and concrete 42”D x 7’ W... I wouldn’t have to worry about the front clearances at all and the door is on the correct side for me. That way next to the loading door I have plenty of hearth width for clearance and don’t have to worry about a log rolling onto the floor. If it rolls out the loading door on the side it lands on the hearth...no big deal.

I’m being patient with all stove makers until after 2020...I want to see what comes then...and mainly waiting on Woodstock to see what else they come up with. I’d love to be a beta tester for them somehow. I think they’ve got their ship in order. They’ve just about nailed zero emissions and will likely be the first in that department. I’d like to see them start pushing burn times even more.

The other point regarding this stove is the capacity. Although it's not a N/S stove it's got a very square box shape and when you open the door it seems much bigger than the Fv capacity. The Fv is 2.2cu/ft, the AS is 2.45, but the shape makes a lot of difference. For me, having one of each, the AS seems to handle a much larger load of wood. Having said that even with the Fv 3 loads a day keeps the oil man away.

Its awesome the way you can customize the stoves.

Wife and I were in there on a Saturday, only ones in the place. We went out back and were unboxing all different stoves that were ready to ship to see color combinations, different art, andirons etc.

I need to stop in soon for some parts. I was an exit away twice in the past few weeks, but in a rush to get back out of the area.
