RO's Evaporator Holding tanks, "C" (right side) was filled twice today. Ended the night at 1:50am with total production of 170 gallons In drums. I'm whipped.
Early sap run in central Michigan. Pulled 35 gallons from 22 taps at my house this past weekend. Homemade ro worked good, It ran sap up to past 10%, maxed out my scale. It was a good start to my hobby batch but the forecast shows back to cold weather for a bit.
Awesome. Had a good run here in CT yesterday and I expect today as well. Got the evaporator fired up. Can’t wait for next seasons upgrades.
That’s funny, this is the first sap run of 2020 for me and I’m looking forwards to upgrades for next year also!
I havent seen much sap here. First attempt doing this, so I put 4 tape out on Saturday. I had probably 3 cups of sap total yesterday. I'm going to try and put the rest out so at least I'll get some quantity.
Next season will be great. Going to get you off that struggle bus with your evaporator and into some less aggravating boiling time.
Sure was! Like the faucets were turned on. Maxed out my main tanks which is 270 gallons and the buckets below the sugar house were overflowing. It’s since slowed wayyyy down though with the overnight temps not falling below 32°. Been glued to the sugar house this week. Couple late nights. Got 200 gallons through the arch the last two boils. Today I plan to finish a batch and keep going to boil away whats in the tanks still. Looks to get down into the teens for a few nights and day time highs not warm enough for any flow coming up so I’d like to have empty and cleaned tanks going into that stretch.
Not a super hard run here in N.E. Ohio yesterday, but they are loading a tanker right now. The run from Sat, Sun, Mon yielded 210 gallons of finished product. We'll see what today's collection brings.
I emptied my collection tanks Monday night after work. Yesterday I went down to the sugarbush after work to check the tanks and found this.
Been running pretty good in NEO, don’t have an exact tap count, but around 250 (~45 bags, rest tubing) at my friend’s grandma’s farm. Gathered up over 400 gallons yesterday, 500 or so the day before. Probably get another 200 today and then it will be quiet for a few days. My buddy’s 2.5x10 evaporator is doing pretty good with it’s new back pan. 75 gallons an hour on average.
I have not, but I know they are one of the largest around. Maybe one day I can make it out there. Impressive setup and scope of operation.
