    Im curious if that will work. Hoarding as much of the stuff that i so ive come to notice the density difference when processing. Wondering if leaving it exposed to the elements would make a difference vs under cover. I like the term "petrified" to describe it too.

    Finished a dead BL stack today and some of the barkless splits had been like that for several years. The wood was rock hard and would qualify for the "petrified" category. IMG_0862.JPG Usually it will have checks radiating inward.
