Is there a noticeable difference between 50cc and 60cc saws?

No that's just a standard Oregon semi chisel chain. Has a thinner body and kerf set than a Stihl. The Stihl has a noticeably wider kerf but it also has a much larger overlap of the cutters down the centerline of the chain (wider teeth)
I'm not smart enough to theorize what that may mean but it works.

Was talking to a Stihl dealer today. He said 3-4 years ago Stihl standardized their teeth in the small bar length styles. There's no longer a full chisel or semi chisel version but a hybrid between the two. Essentially the yellow pro chain and safety green have the same teeth. The only difference is the anti kickback feature.
Can anyone shed some light on that?

There is a chipper chain. Think that was for bigger saws.

Stihl still has semi and full chisel chains. The green just has the safetly link that the yellow does not.

Thanks. I'll buy them online from now on. I like to support local dealers but I'm not gonna argue with em about it.

That's odd to me then. Never have had an issue with bpx. Glad you've found something that works for you.

They do run strong. Remember a 6400 has the same long stroke as the larger displacement top ends.

Most dealers are morons when it comes to saw and related items, most don't even use saws.

At one time Stihl had RS, RSC RSK were all available at the same time. The current RS chain is actually RSC Rapid super comfort. I believe the square ground chain is still RSK, but I'm not 100% on that.

So your telling me the girls at the Husqvarna dealer don't use saws?:D That could explain why when I gave the the correct part number for a piston and cylinder, and she was trying to find a saw.

Stihl is back to RS now atleast that is what it says on the boxes. They dropped the "C" from it.

I know the dealers don't stock it here. IDK if I could get it or not. I've got stuff before that was supposed to be discontinued. The one dealer here only stocks RS and RS3.

It not just the Husky dealers. Any body who has worked on saws long enough will eventually see what some of the dealers are all about.

I know that was just one experience I had. I know which dealers in my area to deal with.

Walked into my closest dealer the other day for an air filter. The kid at the counter asked what I needed. I told him an air filter for a 550xp chainsaw. He said what motor does it have in it? :faint: I repeated myself. He says does it have a Briggs or Kawasaki motor in it? :headbang: Thankfully someone overheard and came up to the counter.

Here is a video of the MS441cm with PS3 chain and a 8t picco sprocket. The camera angle is not the best because I did not have anything to sit it on.

You're a very trusting soul, re stihl power claims. Best I could tell we had that saw near its optimum, both in terms of power output and cutting ability. As mentioned, a 40 cc RedMax, rated at 2.4 hp, simply embarrassed it. Made us "lol". So, yes, down on power IMO.

I believe Stihl square ground 3/8 chain is RSK. With that said you I'm not 100% sure it is RSK anymore, it may in fact just be square ground RS. Most dealers don't stock square ground, some dealers don't even know how to spin a chain, some just buy it pre-made.
