Well, I don't know if I'm "Lucky" or this thread "Jinxed" me. My Tree Buddy I've known 50+ years called me this morning and asked if I wanted a load of "Sweet gum and Cherry" I said Please and Thank you! Should be here Tomorrow, already pre cut for "FREE". If it's not huge sweet gum, I'll start the cookie or splitting process. With the gum, start on the edges and work your way in, split smaller pieces. If it's bigger, I'll "cookie" it then bust it. I don't know how much I'm getting but he usually dumps about a 15yard trailer load. Either way, free wood, delivered to the house... And No "Benjamin's" to process! Inside Joke guys!!! You know what I'm saying...
I'm down to my last 5 cord of wood. I'll get through the winter no problem but time to get back about 10 cord. I got some coming in March also, Hopefully it's a couple Oaks and my neighbor is taking down his Hackberry tree, might be a cord in that. Sorry Chud I didn't mean to Hi-jack the tread!
My Buddy always comes through, Just dumped it. Cherry and Sweet gum! I'll have it all C/S/S in maybe 45 minutes if I stop for a Beer! .....

Most Certainly! It's NEVER easy. I start from the outside edges and work in! You've seen some of my "sweet gum" pics from years back I think... And, I know anyone who's been on here long enough, knows this is the way it's done in "This Hood"!
Right now I wish I had EODMSgt 's new lift splitter! I may just have to invest in one! But you know, Maybe I can find some EODDiver to help me out here. Some of these rounds ARE kinda girly and I should be ashamed to ask for help! I think this will sit till after Christmas!
