Is a mild winter good for the economy?

5 weeks later oil below $28.00, feb 16 futures on hho $.89, my local dealer at $1.469 this am. decision was made in late fall to buy my supply of sawdust brick at $269. to supplement my half cord , knowing it would not last the winter. decision now is as my supply dwindles is to turn on the new boiler when ever it's needed. with bricks selling for $299, cordwood upwards to $350 seasoned, green $250.+. by the middle of next month the stove will only be used part time with free pallet wood. have to admit i'll miss the every day 24/7 burning but I'm cheap and it doesn't add up. miss the old days when my business supplied 1-2 cords of free heat from pallets and skids? have a day

Me Too Doug. Been mild but the snow is getting to be relentless. We're getting lake effect pretty well everyday. I've turned into a plowboy. We got out to town for church this morning but by the time we got back another 2 or 3 inches. My neighbor could not get up his drive for the first time ever. He gave me his key to open the dump gate as I was getting around ok on the main road. its that wet, sticky, slimy stuff and even for good winter snowflake rated tires its a challenge. I smell a pot of chili on the stove and we're going to kick back, take a nap and then enjoy the superbowl. Life is GOOD ... its just a bit of snow.

My sister lives in lake placid ny, I was just up that way. They have no snow, which should be declared an emergency. The economy up there is dying.
The lack of snow around here is pathetic, I'm really hoping the big storm offshore turns inland

Don't know about snow but upper NY/Vermont/Quebec going to get a lick of Siberian Polar Vortex air for the weekend. Time to round up some big splits and and a few smaller ones to get them cooking. Brrrrrr! "Hey ma! time for another piece in the stove eh!"
