Lots of construction projects up here... Contractors must like not having to bundle up.
A few more concrete jobs this year is probably a good thing for our local guys.

^Good point, I saw the concrete guys out Friday when I was driving around. I'm sure they'd be a lot slower with a winter like last year's.

I think it all evens out. Some industries will get hurt, but others will do better. In my area, we don't get much snow, but it's still cold enough that a lot of outside work comes to a halt. I'm sure the landscapers are happy to have mild weather to complete projects for clients, because otherwise they'd be at their homes doing nothing, hoping for that rare snowfall in December.

Tree trimming supplies. The adult kids tossed a lot of the ones I had. Said the mice got in them.

Snow machines? I didn't think you were Canadian?;)

I know low snow/ warm winters are bad for my states economy.

The cities and towns spend less on supplies and upkeep of snow removal equipment.

It depends on what business you are in. If you are a plow operator, sled rental/ sales/ repair place etc...you are hurting.

Oh yes, up in Maine, NH, & Vermont it's all about snow machines and skiing. The motels and eating places barely hang on with no snow.

One reason I am grateful to live in a small town. The money, all money, is designated by town members who volunteer to serve on committees. Then every item is voted upon at town meeting. Line by line. It can take a few hours to get through it. Any money left over is rolled over and included in the request for the next's years funding. Not uncommon at all to have the selectmen overruled at town meeting. The biggest problem we have had in town government is the employees who have pillaged the accounts. This has happened twice in the past 10 yrs. Once by one of the selectmen, and once by the town office manager. My taxes went down $600 after they carted the last thief off to jail.

I just registered my wife's sled as an antique, and it's registered for life. In NH they give an actual antique license plate, not a sticker like the regular registrations.

OOPS and fedX are both getting behind on deliveries this season in spite of the mild weather. I'd say amazon prime is doing just fine.
