Welcome to the forum, Cell block 726! This is a great forum, full of great people and an amazing amount of knowledge and enthusiasm for all things firewood, saws, tools, trucks, and well....there’s probably a thread on darn near everything! We aren’t afraid to offer opinions, listen to your advice and experience, and most of all offer ideas on how to help you spend your money:makeitrain"! We all like tools and toys, but above all we love pictures. Be sure to share photos of your wood stacks, saws and anything else that’s awesome.
I was down to the final 2 candidates a few years back to relocate to Kalispell, Montana. It didn’t work out, but I wish it had- you’re in some beautiful country out there! Again, welcome to the group.

I suppose I should do a formal introduction.
I'm Mike aka In The Pines (traditional american folk song made popular by Bill Monroe or Lead Belly whomever you prefer)
I don't live in the pines though, it's suburbia/ruralish. Not rural enough for me but it works for now.
I live in Northeast Ohio.. Been burning personally for the last 6ish years. Been around wood stoves/fireplaces for way way longer though.
I was doing some reading on log splitters and came across this fine site and figured I'd sign up.
I'm a wood scrounger.. Love storms as they bring me a fresh supply and amish logging sites.
Recently connected with an excavator who has agreed to supply me with the trees they clear out for free!
I do everything manually for now but with time so limited I'm looking at buying a splitter eventually.

Welcome aboard In the Pines !
Getting hooked up with someone who'll supply wood.....for free, is great. I was able to do the same earlier this summer.

Hey all Matt here I am located in central NebrAska. Installed my stove last year century heat FW3000 We heated our house all winter with it only used propane a few times. I had to borrow a splitter last year to split my wood. I am in the process of rebuilding a 3point splitter I will take more pictures and post a thread about it. Found the page as a recommendation from the YouTube channel Lifeinthefarmland. I attached a picture of my wood shed I have been burning a lot of mulberry I also burn it in my big smokers.
