Thanks for adding me too the forum. I'm a wood-addict.I have a Jotul woodstove that's heating an old farm house. I sold my Woodmaster 5500 owb last year, that's where my name (woodslave) came from. I'm a Stihl man all the way 440, 361,026 and a couple of 170's. Kubota m5660 with a grapple, 501 farmi winch. Deer season is over and it's time too head back to the woods. My wife doesn't get it when I send her pictures of the wood shed and tell her that's pretty hot right there. Haha
I'm definitely not the best with computer stuff, but I'll try to load more pictures, I love seeing everyone's tractors, saws, woodlot and big boy toys.
Awritey Woodslave welcome to the club! The one and only addiction thats keeps you fit and warm! I like your wee traktor alot.

Joined a while back, but now trying to post more often. I got into cutting wood by spending time as a kid with Dad in the woods. I have a serious addiction that none of my friends get lol. Ive now graduated college and work at a golf course so during the growing season it’s taking care of the course. But this time of year it’s cutting time. We have over 400 Ash trees we are slowly thinning out and have hundreds of others that I work on and I get all the wood. When I’m not on the course I’m in the fields clearing out what I can get my hands on. I am a Stihl guy (MS 170, 290, 660) Been ax splitting since I was 15 and finally broke down and found me a solid splitter. Have a nice Fisher wood stove in the basement. It’s getting very cold in Nebraska so the stove is in full force. Cheers everyone and stay warm
LogChain, thanks looks like a great group of people here. Lots of knowledge and information. Glad to see that I'm not alone in my addiction. Lol Couple of pictures from the other day. I just throw some wood in the back of the truck and back up to the mud room and fill my rack, it'll last a few day's.
Welcome, Nothing like getting paid to cut wood at work, then take the wood home. Lol I'm a Stihl man all the way. Nice pictures.

I am Brad, from Indiana. I have a farm and a OWB, for four years now. Always having to cut up fallen trees anyway- now have a place to put them. We have a total electric house so in winter, the bill is about 80% lower than it would be. I dont blink and eye when its time to buy a big ole chainsaw or other equipment. Direct savings. My OWB gives a return of investment better than any stock market decision. Chose username of Sourwood. Indiana documents the largest of each native species of tree. We have the largest sourwood on our family tree farm. Fun time is attaching the splitter to the Kaw Mule, load the bed with gear, and head into the woods and come back with loads of wood. Been playing with holz hausen type of stack. Kind of fun and makes sense to di it that way. I was taken aback during registration that a required question was "what is your favorite firewood." Maple was the first to come to mind. You hickory fans dont be hatin'
