lived in town when carver supply was still there. 75 -87 till the ex , well that's another story. coached the" pearly whites " in girls softball. had what 4 kids I started with, from age 5 to 12-13, on state champ team in high school. great little town, with a lot of hard workin peeps. if Fran Casey is still post mastering say hi.

 

Hey all, my name is Steve or Oldhippie, whatever works for you. I'm a refuge from other places.

I live in Ashby Massachusetts, a tiny little town in north central Massachusetts, I can throw a stone into New Hampshire from my driveway. It's a cute little town with as many lots of critters. My wife is from closer to the Boston area and she calls it Jurassic Park. I have 6 acres and 3 of them are wooded. I have been burning since I built here in 1979. Previous stoves are Garrison One (aka the smoke dragon) and a mid sized CDW early Cat stove from 1985 timeframe. Those are since gone. I currently have a Woodstock Fireview that I just installed and a Resolute Acclaim in the finished basement that will less and less usage now that I have the Fireview.

I am an avid motorcycle rider, I hack at playing my acoustic guitar and I also play the trumpet (since grammar school). I play old Bob Dylan songs on the guitar and I play old jazz licks on the trumpet.. both poorly, but I have fun. I am also a pretty good snow skier. Other hobbies include hometheater/stut, if the sun is shinning I'm out doing miles on one of my scooters.

Oh yeah, I'm married and she pretty much puts up with me most of the time, the rest of the time we don't pay a lot of attention to each other. I've got a 33 year old son and a 30 year old daughter.

I love burning and it's turned into a hobby more than a financial option. I recognize a few names out here.. the usual suspects. Count on me to pretty much jabber a bunch of semi-useless accurate and/or useless information most of the time.
