Glad to have you Colby. You'll learn a lot and before you know it we'll be like extended family. Honestly, this is probably the "warmest" group of people in any forum on the net (pun intended).

Keep us posted with pics and progress as you start to gather your stash. And as others have said already, there is no such thing as a stupid question. We've all been at the beginning before, the nice thing about this place is it takes all the guesswork out for you. You'll be a professional wood hoarder in NO time!

Hello, everyone. I wanted to introduce myself. I've already gotten hooked on checking the forum and scavenging wood. I've already picked up a few pointers on here, I like the gallery and the resources. I was going to post a picture of my wood stash but need to figure out how to insert them from my phone.

Welcome Shurdel. Yep, the mods have really done a good thing with this non-commercial home for wayward firewood hoarders... ;)... :D
Hope you get your pics on too. Always cool to see new stashes... :axe:

Welcome to FHC Shurdel!! I see your a fellow Stihlhead!! :dex: Nice choice in equipment! lol...

As for posting pics from a mobile device? It's best to take the pic in Landscape mode (whether you have an Android or Apple device). This means the "Home button" will be on the right hand side (wide view). If taken any other way, it will be sideways or upside-down.

To get them on the forum, you need to select the "Upload a File" on the bottom next to reply post. Then select from where you want to pull pics from, and finally select the pic. Easy Peasy! :)

Thanks, everyone! Scotty, I'm near Gettysburg, Pa. Dexter, I really like the Stihl. HD, I can't wait to sit by the fire and have a beer. I'm getting some rack built for stacking and drying. In the fall it'll go up in the old barn, there is a driveway to the house from that one so I don't have to haul it through the snow. I still have some more big rounds of that Red Oak to pickup.

I'll be down that way sometime soon here for a trip to the battlefields. I used to work in Camp Hill years ago, and I was into cycling big time back in the mid '90's. I used to mountain bike all over the place in and around the Gettysburg battlefields. What a beautiful, humbling, and sad place......I love it down there.

those stacks look great, you're doing it right for sure! You'll fit right in at this place....
