    Hi, I'm Dave from beautiful Mount Desert Island, Maine. I work as a molecular biologist studying neurodegenerative disease like ALS and SMARD1.

    I have been accused of being an unapologetic purist, I like my coffee black, my food whole, and my life simple.
    I believe;
    the simplest solution is usually the best
    in fact over fiction
    in function over form
    in friendship over friction
    in not taking myself, life or religion too seriously

    In addition to cord wood hoarding and wood heat, I enjoy being addicted to hiking with my dogs and air-cooled BMW motorcycles.

    Welcome Dave. Welcome. That sounds like some very sound belief and I like it. I have seen some beautiful BMW motorcycles. Older, and especially the newer ones.

    Thanks Gasifier, to answer question, main floor NC30, basement hotblast, Plus I have a old PDVC25 pellet burner I will be putting in basement, then pull the hot blast out. Too much hassel with furnace, and the down draft in the flue to get it started, additionally I can never trust it's auto damper- more like auto overfire. Currently I have around 40 cord CSS puts me at minimum 3 years ahead. Bad case of CAD and FAD, 5 Dolmars,1DolMak,1 Jonserd. 30 ton splitter, I am in the SE corner of WI. Just me and my 2 Girls ( Springer Spaniels) 2ksqft ranch.

    Pics for papadave and Gassifier, There are a few more stacks around. That long one is some 35+ yards x 5'high x 4' deep , 50%+ of it is Honey Locust, there is also a cord of Black locust in there as well as a cord of Beech. The pic where its all gray is 90% Sugar maple rest is Red Oak. There is a stack 10' x20'x10' of elm , ash, various Maple and Hickory next to that one.
