    Howdy...and thanks for all the great info I've been reading on the WS Progress Hybrid. Researching that stove is how I found this forum. It looks like a great place of like-minded folks and I'm happy to be here!

    By way of introduction, my name is Jim. My wife & I have been heating our 2600 sq ft home exclusively with a pair of wood stoves since the early 70's oil crisis. We burn an avg of 6 cords annually. However, by the time is this cold winter is finally over, we'll have used 8 cords of split, stacked, and seasoned locust and oak.

    We currently have a VC Defiant in the living room and a large Dutchwest in the dining room. We're replacing the VC this summer.

    This is what I looked like in 2012 during a photo shoot at Magnolia Plantation in SC -- although the beard's a bit bigger, I haven't changed much since then:

    Hey PhotoGuy… I'll bet feeding 2 wood stoves during this winter kept you busy. You'll like this group of folks. And, our very cool mods don't let politics get in the way of having a good time here either. Makes this forum even better… :yes: All good folk…

    Welcome… :tree::axe::fire::campfire::firepit:

    That is so true! One of the best parts about this place. Plenty of other forums to do political rants on.

    Hi everyone, I'm Jason. Found this site while doing some searching about a chainsaw and figured I'd sign up rather than lurk. I grew up helping my Dad with firewood, and bought a place 2 years ago with a wood furnace so I'm kind of getting back into the whole firewood processing thing. I've since discovered I have a slight case of CAD, so I'm happy anywhere I hear talk about saws!

    Well, well, well - I finally found all of you guys! I'm Jacques - aka NH_Wood from a previous site where I enjoyed talking saws, wood, and stoves with lots of you. Mike from Maine clued me into this forum a day ago - I was wondering where the heck everyone was - and here you are! Glad I was able to find the new site - nice work Scotty and others - looks like this will be a lot of fun, minus the not so fun parts! And away we go! Cheers! Jacques

    Hey Pete - yes, I've been picking up a few new toys. Just picked up a real nice Husq 50 in excellent condition, and a Husq 61 with great parts but scored cylinder (as a parts saw for my 61). Also got a 394xp in pretty rough shape, but piston/cylinder look good (in trade from a friend who wanted some help fixing his 445!). It never ends! Cheers, Jacques
