That’s the way we are around here…. Take it or leave it!! Very nice setup you have there. Enough to inspire a guy to start putting together his own shopping list!!
I've been roaming around here for 10 months now, like someone that just shows up with no introduction. I'm terrible at formalities, but my name is Larry, alias stihl kicking, because my stihl 025 was my dads and it's still going strong. I'm a god loving, wife and family loving, rural loving, USA loving, travel, hiking, boating, fishing, music, and a DIY person. Retired 11 years now, after 36 years at the same company. There's a lot of good people here, sharing banter and information. I'm new to wood burning, my third season, and I've definitely benefited more than contributed here. My wife and me, just Standin' on the corner...
Welcome friend. I've encountered nothing but good people here and I'm sure you will feel the same way.
My mind went back to a much older song than that. Winslow in the background brought me forward to the right one.
It's an interesting side stop if traveling through. In the early days Winslow was a railroad town, the La Posada is an old posh hotel on the stop, and it still is. Years later the Eagles helped put Winslow back on the map. A lot of people stop just for this, and it's along the old route 66, a little west of the Petrified Forest NP.
New here but I've been reading and learning for a few months now. Thankful for all the tips and tricks I've learned from this group! Grew up burning wood, and boy do I have some fond memories of cutting and splitting wood with my dad. From the borrowed truck, to the smell of fresh split oak. We decided to get a wood stove last year to help offset our propane costs and because who doesn't love sitting by a fire? What a great choice it was. We're heating entirely off the stove now and I'm working on my hoard! Here's a few photos from this morning, still have quite a few logs I want to get split by the end of March and into totes. Been enjoying every minute and the new toys I've "HAD" to buy.
Welcome aboard Ford , Smart move to get the stove and start using firewood! Can't see the pictures, hope you can correct that. Again, welcome!
