Hello!

I am a new wood burner, kind of jumped into it a year early due to the VT rebate expiring so I picked up an Absolute Steel from woodstock. The VT rebate plus the price increase was about a $1100 swing. My plan is to burn when it's less than 30 degrees and use the mini splits over that. They are not the super super efficient versions but they are pretty good. Happy to be supporting a local stove maker, being able to stop in is a plus.

Anyways, live in Central VT with a wife and two kids. Moved here from MA and love not having to commute to Boston anymore but I get to work for my same employer (Construction Manager) so keeping the same salary was nice! Working on a project at Dartmouth college now and moving to one at a local drug maker a few doors down from Woodstock. Profile pic is down the road from me, love being able to see quintessential VT ever day.

I always seem to be drawn to message boards, my wife says I cannot just be a casual fan of everything. I have a long history of posting on HF Boards about the Boston Bruins, and lesser extent financial independence on Mr Money Mustache. Always fun to seek out a community of people with similar interests.

Already had some great messages with some posters about wood and burning which has been a big help for me learning my new stove and wood burning in general.

I could be here for days with the crap ive been through!!! As for firewood stacks i have a good amount outside my garage! My saw is a stihl ms291!
