Hey Sugarbug87 from another Washingtonian (Lakewood). Used to do a lot of hiking/fishing/camping/snow shoeing up the Carbon river and was always passing through that area. Welcome aboard!
I used to take my late pointer/lab to swim in the carbon. A few decent mellow areas. My old man is too arthritic for much more than a walk around the block these days, but he used to entertain her swimming obsession.
We used to go to the Ipsut creek entrance to the park then snowshoe to above Coplay lake into the old Mcleary cabin and spend a long weekend there. We took our dogs who had it easy walking in our compacted trail. Snowpack would be about 8-12 ft. up there. Dogs would have a blast. Yours look to be having a great time. All the necessities: mud, sticks and water!
Oh yeah! He loves snow. Hes unfortunately not healthy enough these days for that kind of trip. In his prime he would have loved it. Anywhere there is sticks hes game. The last picture he found the best stick at the Green River... he got stuck. Haha.
Post your doggy pictures and stories in Giz Emma and everyones pets. You would have a large and appreciative audience for their cuteness and antics.
He is... FatBoy85 would agree. Haha. Hes one of 3 people that can even touch him outside of my immediate family.
New guy from western Washington. Seems like the right time to move a little bit further away from downtown and work. New pad has a fireplace and I don't have anything, not even poker. As I have learned from other hobbies it's best to get better tools from the start. Not sure where to start? every new answer just leads to 3 new questions.
Welcome to the club, lots of great folks here sharing knowledge and humor. Check out the resources page and members map. Will you have access to wood to cut or will you scrounge what you burn?
Hello and welcome to the FHC eSk8er Great to have you here. Is it a "fireplace" or does it have an insert which is basically a wood stove sized to fit inside an existing fireplace? Fireplaces are pretty to look at but are very inefficient for heat production as most goes up the chimney. They also burn wood way too fast as well. Will you putting up your own wood or buying it?
It's the pretty to look at kind of fireplace. Was looking to get a fireback. I have to buy wood. I don't have a truck, saw, dog . Should I just get fir or pay extra for apple?
Welcome aboard eSk8er Nah.. get the whole dog But if you're gonna use an inefficient fireplace, I'd not burn expensive stuff in it. Oh, and get a good chimney sweeper. Edit.. You don't need a truck to scrounge some wood. The Car Hoarding thread
