    We really got a break this year... typically middle to end of October we have our first snow.....Just had our first one this past weekend and it was about 17 inches in total... so I guess Mother Nature was catching up. :)

    Hello fellow wood slayers. It all started bout 4-6 years ago when the drought hit us hard in Crazyfornia. I'm on 21 acres of oak trees in the foothills. I lost about 2 dozen oaks in the time frame. I lobbed em all up in a pile and there they sat...... I got tired of looking at it and tried to give away the rounds for FREE but nobody wanted them because it was not split. To hell with it....I'll split it and try to sell.

    I'm proud to say that in the last three +/- weeks, I have officially sold and delivered 9.75 cords of wood in about 3 weeks @ $300 cord, and $150 for a 1/2 cord. I ended up selling the entire pile, plus what I had already cut for our own use. My wife was pizzed when she saw that our private stash was gone :mad:

    Lucky for me, a good friend of mine runs cattle on 5200 acres. I got the golden handshake to cut down any dead oak I see. I've been slinging wood like a mofo.

    Now its time to to either build or buy a trailer for hauling wood and quit borrowing my neighbors splitter and buy my own, LOL :rofl: :lol:

    I built a 4 x 4 x 4 wooden box so that my customers know specifically what they're getting. Huge pain to load for the time being, but since this is all brand new, I'm gonna use my earnings wisely until I'm done testing the waters. Gawd I love cutting and splitting wood! 59503682493__EFE0713D-544C-432B-B1B7-4803531E9056.JPG

    Not much for snow, it's been hovering around an inch or so between melt off and new stuff.

    Mud season has been extended.
    :picard:

    Chazsbetterhalf is having some back issues, but other than that all is well.

    Hope things are good down your way.

    an inch, really? Thought you guys got slammed? We had an early freeze, then thaw 3-4" snow Sunday night so mud is problem here too. Normally our first ground freeze up is starting now. Sloppy going through yard to retrieve wood. Cant drive PU to load either. Oh well it is what it is!
    You'll hafta give her a nice massage! Glass of wine or two, some soft music, dim the lights! ;) :whistle::yes:

    Nah, worst of it stayed north of us.

    Fortunate that it did, with the freezing rain we had, we woulda definitely been without power had we got more.

    As to the rest..
    Well.. :zip::whistle:

    Welcome Farrier Yes it is easy to get jazzed when you sell some of that hard won firewood at a good price! Nice that you can run amok on 5200 acres. Looking forward to more tales of your firewood ventures!:salute:

    Welcome to FHC Farrier! I look forward to following the evolution of your firewood empire. I've heard that California oak is hard to come by and very sought after, you should do well!
