I think the stove is pretty safe. The chance of that hole collapsing though is a different story.

They probably don’t give much thought to it either, and yet they still live on.... weird, right?

Have you ever seen someone trapped in a collapsed trench? I have it is an absolutely horrible way to die. So yeah I will avoid situations where it could happen to me. Oh and guess what that guy probably thought it would never happen to him either.

There are far to many laws and rules protecting stupid people from doing stupid things.

on another note feel free to share some fire wood pics or or stories that aren’t picking apart someone’s set up.

That may be true. But it doesn't change the fact that installing an unsheilded stove that close to combustibles is a fire hazard.

Stupid is as stupid does! (Forrest Gump) If you are stupid enough to do something that can cost you injury or death, thats on you! You can't be the worlds police and save everyone!!!

I agree but some people just don't know the dangers of what they are doing. So why not inform them when you can? And in case you missed it I did say I didn't see allot of danger of personal injury here.

No, I didn't miss anything and I did. But I would like to believe people can see their own issues and are smart enough to figure it out. My FIL Ice fished with a small pot belly stove for 40 years before you came along in Wisconsin. I have no issues of warning people but I'm sure they'll figure it out!

This. The fan could cause an issue. Probably should make sure it’s plugged into a gfci outlet to be safe(r)

Since when does the fact that I am concerned with the safety of people's installs mean I have a superiority complex? I know woodstove and chimney safety because it is my job to. Many people know much more about many other things than I do. I wouldn't get upset if they gave me advice on those subjects.
