Want a shocker? Home heating fuel stores are 63% below normal in New England. Warnings of rolling blackouts due to natural gas shortages. It’s not looking good.
I don't know if I buy that. That sounds more like a right wing talking point than a problem In all seriousness though, I really hope it doesn't come to that. Most people aren't prepared to handle that kind of situation. Heck, even I'm not in a position to rely on a generator for more than a few days.
are there any right wing channels in Vermont? Low heating fuel inventories cause concern in New England ahead of winter New England faces rolling BLACKOUTS this winter with bills set to soar | Daily Mail Online
I was that guy for my local network of friends. "Hey, we are having a bonfire tonight, you coming? Oh, would you mind bringing a little wood?" They knew I had PILES of it just laying around, no biggie for me to bring some right? Every once in a while I would have a few too many at said party and complain about being their firewood bitch. So I opened it up for any one of them to come and split a truckload of wood for themselves and haul it home and stack it themselves, only a few ever took me up on the offer. And it was usually a hassle. So when we decided to start my son's firewood business I closed the woodlot, now if they want some wood they can pay him for it. Sorry not sorry! We do a big campout in early November and yes I will be the guy that brings the firewood usually. But I have now made it known that I am not their firewood bitch, too much work and effort goes into it to be giving that stuff away. Now I just tell them to order some from my son.
There a bunch of articles discussing diesel/hho rationing happening here in new england, and possibilities of blackouts/brownouts. This article seemed to touch on some of the issues better than others. But sounds like if it gets cold here for an extended time, its going to get interesting. Yeah the latest is rolling shortages of diesel fuel in the northeast. Areas can expect to have no diesel for retail for days at a time. Companies are already telling their drivers to fill their tanks every night before shutting down. Never know what the morning will bring.
biting my tongue - but if you didn't know for every barrel of oil (42 gallons), 12% of that is diesel (about 12 gallons of diesel), 46% is gasoline. 9% of that is jet fuel. not going to break down the other petrochems Why is there not anything in the news about jet fuel shortages? They drink way more than a diesel truck or a house using heating oil. As an example a 747 will consume 18k gallons of fuel in just 5 hours. That is a lot of diesel trucks for just a 5 hour flight. They truly do think we are stupid and what can you do, because by my logic, if we were actually short of diesel, there would be a lot of arm flailing going on about the lack of jet fuel. It's their fault for not refilling their capacity.
I agree, but I wonder if most folks don't really care if planes fly, but will be concerned when they can't heat their homes, or get truck deliveries. Perhaps those two items are where we'll be hit hardest or first. From the articles I read, and as stated here I think, part of the problem is finding delivery drivers for HHO.
