Nah, no stake pockets. I probably wont ever remove the sides once on. Sorta thinking about 1x10 pine boards, and using u-bolts or similar to mount them to the vertical members. That would save using vertical members (1x6 pt decking even) and loosing inside space. But that would be negligible loss I suppose.
I tried them today, they're a wee bit small height wise. But they worked, and they were of locally sourced material...
I'm nauseous pretty much the whole time I'm in most stores anymore...Ain't gonna get any better any time soon with the crap that DC just approved either.
Just looked up the WI trailer rules - if the trailer GVW is 3000# or less no plate required, Not sure where i came up with 7000# or I hit the wrong key. When you get into heavy equip. units things are different. might be where he 7k came from
Steel has been going down. Stainless is another thing, due to the nickel that mostly comes from Ukraine and Russia.
Yeah that's true, but how many boats that are over 3000 lbs but not massive great lake boats have trailers that are licensed in this state?
Before and after. Added sides and front. 5/4 pt. Worked out ok, except the tailgate doesn't close in now. It DOES have 4.stake.bed pockets, but they're under the side rail....so cant put much in them. 5.5 x 10 trailer. 17.25" sides. 82.5 cu ft. Half a cord is 64 cu ft. Will add a handfull of tie-downs to the inside.floor. tomorrow.
I thought I saw stake pockets. Yeah, the location of the pockets is odd. But you found work around. Those pockets will be easy tie down gook points.
These tie down gadgets went in yesterday. They're rated 600#. But the heavier sheet metal screws weren't as tight as I'd have liked. I'm thinking I'll fetch some bolts, lock washers and nuts, and drill clean through the bed. But They're in, will hold a modest load down, and will certainly allow me to load with wood, and sweep out easily after. There are 8, perhaps more to come. Anchoring outside the walls to the frame isnt something I care to do, except maybe for a load of brush. The tires are not radials, but that can happen when they're worn out. I am after a spare, and mounting hardware. We've been blessed with zero flats, but, a spare is a good idea I reckon. I'll take the sander to the upright bits of wood, knock off the edges. No plans for paint or stain, at this point. A fun note, I mowed our dust bowl here today. Highest setting, just to even stuff off.
I was able to make “offset” stakes for one like that once. The stake went down the inside of the rail and then a little stub 2x4 fastened to outside of it went into the pocket. The side would lean in towards the center to install and remove at an angle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
