Hello Got the 14-4 audio speaker wiring into the 2 subs today. So by connecting the pairs together it makes 11 gauge to the sub woofers from the sub amplifier! Then I put the sub speaker jacks in behind the cabinet and changed the AC outlet into a duplex box to have 4 recessed outlets for the following Radio DVD player Tv box Sub woofer amp See pics
Just used the new cable cutter and compression tool to hook up the video and finally TV Just Got a free 13" color TV for now until I save some money and get one when they go on sale. Maybe after the Super Bowl - LOL All the jacks and wires work! Just have to ruff it for a while longer
Hello We are putting in the rest of the wiring! 4 more subwoofers so now there are 6 It is "All about the base" - no Treble !!! 2 - ceiling mounted with seperate amps using the 4 binding posts in Pic 1 2 - Outside subwoofers using RG6 and 2 RCA jacks 2 - RCA jacks on left and right side in the back of the shop The very last wire to go in is the 35 feet fire rated CL2 cable to connect the computer in the back of the d Shop with the flat screen in the front of the shop. See pics 1 - All subwoofer jacks 2 - HDMI jack above inbound cable video from street 3 - All jacks in back of woodwaves floating TV stand 4 - back corner of workshop RCA woofer jack and HDMI jack for computer connection
Hello Just got the very last in wall wire for the TV from monoprice in southern Cali today! The 35 foot InWall CL2 fire rated high speed premium not 26 gauge like these cables in Home Depot but 24 gauge HDMI cable good for 4K TV This will be the last wire to go in the wall. This way the computer in the back of the shop can be connected to the TV in the front of the shop. Using a scrap piece of 2x4: Looks like a 7/8" diameter wood bit is the right sized to get the HDMI thru the ceiling 2x12s See last pic
Hello What a struggle getting the HDMI cable in! This should be easy! Got the 35 foot HDMI cable today and the length was perfect! The Lowe's HDMI jack was angled up so the only way the cable could plug in and fit is when the HDMI jack is in the bottom slot. Ok that works. However the Home Depot HDMI jack is not angled and when you plug the wire in the cable hits the back of the workbox and there is no way to make it fit!!! &#%¥#!! So Back to Lowe's and Home Depot!!! See pic below of Home Depot jack where HDMI cable does not fit!!!
Hello Got the Lowe's angled "HDMI Keystone Insert" which the sell in the store but do not show them on their web site! Also put in the Lowe's rg6 jack and 2 port Insert and by putting the HDMI jack in the bottom slot and the HDMI cable in the top there is just enough room to get it all in! See pics. Is it supposed to be this difficult?
Hello All the Rock Wool in the walls and ceiling was done just before the last few cold days for some nice Winter Warmth! Now the foil is going in for the summertime coolness!
Drywall is going in this week! Fire rated in the ceiling to meet new codes! Pic 1 - new room Pic 2. - TV & Radio Wall.
The cheese wall is all muded, trimmed and painted! Just have to remount the radio box onto the 2x4 blocking.
Thanks Just got the Radio Box in and had to shave 2 of the trim plates on the right side to fit it in! Also had to put 2 flat washers behind each screw holding the wheel wall bracket to the studs and blocking so the box would hook on easy!! Now what is next Denon Receiver and Samsung Flat Screen?? Or Marantz Reciever and Sony Bravia Flat Screen??
Best Buy has the same type floating cabinet like mine for only $2,299.98 !!! LOL I paid $650 on sale for mine! Is that a Best Buy? Salamander Salamander Designs - Chameleon Denver A/V Cabinet for Most Flat-Panel TVs Up to 75" - Medium Walnut ECO GEO MOCHA Floating TV Stand - ECO GEO Mocha
Hello Got the Sony 49” Sony flat screen up and 8 Dual speakers for it. Got 2 more Dual speakers for the deck above since they are indoor / outdoor I saved all the measurements and pics of the 2x4 cross bracing I installed between the studs and screwed the speaker brackets into these 2x4s
Hello Just ran into a Big snag! I thought of this during the pre-wire stage and my local electric supply manager ordered special Recessed single, double and triple gang outlet boxes for 2x6 walls but it still was not enough!!! The new radio is 14.5” deep and the shelf is 15.5” After the banana plugs are plugged into the speakers, then the depth grows to approx a whopping 17-3/4” and the feet are almost hanging over the front! I spent all day adding 3 inches to the depth of my shelf that holds the Marantz! I had to use special 2x2 popular wood!! The shelf in the floating TV stand is 15.5" deep so with the 2 layers of popular wood it is now 18.5" - My question is: How deep is your component shelf and does it give you enough room to plug in your cables?? So how deep is your shelf? Pic 1 - Feet hanging out the front! Pic 2 shows depth of radio with knobs and banana jacks Pic 3 - attaching the first layer of 2x2 popular wood to the studs in the wall. Pic 4 - 1st layer Frame is done) Pic 5 - double layer shows side is open for ventilation and running the FM antenna wire! Pic 6 - shows 2x2 boards leave plenty of room around jacks located behind the floating shelf. Pic 7 - shows new radio fits on shelf now 18.5”
Banana plugs or RCA plugs? If RCA’s, you could’ve bought the 90° adapters that give you some low profile routing options....
Hello The speakers use Banana plugs on most of the new radios and that is what this is. It is WiFi, Blue Tooth, ATMOS & HEOS The do make right angle banana but the other inputs like HDMI are not right angle and the cable wires themselves need some room?
So have banana clips on the back of the head unit or do your banana plug cables come to tinned ends that spring clip into the back of the unit? Show a pic of the back of the Marantz?
The wires can screw in or plug in with Banana plugs. Screwing 12 speakers in can take a lot more time! So I am using banana plugs!
