Way too hot to work outside today, so I went downstairs to the shop and worked on this small built-in shelf unit for my in-laws. It's quartersawn white oak that came out of my forest a couple years back. It should come out real nice. I'll post picts when it's finished, too.
Here's the final project in situ. It's my first time finishing white oak with stain/dye. Meh? My wife asked me to build this to protect her parents from tripping on the hearth. It's screw into the door jamb very solidly.
