I would have to say that they run pretty true to size.

The last two pair I bought (all wide widths, mind you) were size 12. I tried them and bought them from a store. One pair was the Irish Setter "gun flint" with 1000 gram and water proof; the other pair was rocky "corn stalker" also 1000 gram and waterproof. Since I had ordered the "bear claw" boots (above) from the internet (amazon) I was a bit concerned about fit but was relieved to find that they fit just as described; that is "true to size".

The first pair of rocky boots I bought....back in the mid 2000's some time, were size 11 (wide again) and the next pair were 11.5. These were great fitting boots and comfortable as I would wear them at least 12 hours daily (working then-did I mention that I'm retired now??):D

Their sizing of the boots may have changed??

I'll say that the first pair of Rocky boots that I bought ( cornstalker) were perfect size 12 for my size 12 feet. The next pair of Rocky boots I got to replace the cornstalkers were wildcats, because the cornstalkers were not made anymore. I got size 12. They are a little small. Not bad, and they never have really "broken in" but there's are cordura style boots, not leather.

Yup, I prefer the leather over the cordura also. But cornstalkers are still available here. I wonder if you have any Dunhams stores down by you? The cornstalkers are on sale this week.

Ok then, they brought the cornstalkers back, called them cornstalker 1000. They are a little different, namely in that the originals had no leather on them, but my wildcats are holding up well. Probably get another 15 years out of them. Lol. Then they'll stop making the cornstalkers when I need new boots. They always have several styles though.

Dunham's have mostly closed down here. There's a store on Brookfield, but that's a haul. We used to have one less than a mile away, but like most of their stores it closed a number of years ago.

Rocky boots used to be 100% made in Nelsonville Ohio about 30 minutes south of me. I would go down and buy them direct. Then they moved to "somewhere" and I have not bought any since mainly because quality/fit went down

    Interesting...

That said, my wildcats were made in Ohio, just as my old cornstalkers.

Outside of the slightly different fit, they seem to have been made as well. My wife bought me the wildcats, like 16 years ago. Still plenty of life them.

Also, it appears that some Rocky boots are still made in America.

Just slipped on a pair I bought online from Cabelas. Never bought boots from them but I got 2 gift cards for Christmas last year and Fathers day this year. I will give them a run. 20191017_191629.jpg

I live 20 minutes south of rocky boot. I have bought two pair of boots in 2015. Nine months in, both pairs of 140$ boots, this is what happens.

The sole splits and the boots are trashed.
Rocky makes junk, I will not buy their boots or support them.

Interesting. They MADE awesome boots in the past, and they didn't have to be the most expensive boots. My cornstalkers were ~$120 when new, but inflation probably made them on the pricier side. My wildcats were ~$100, and I were them for 8+ hours today working outside. Still super comfy.

    Ohio,
What model of rockys are those that split? Looks like some are made in n Puerto Rico, some in Dominican republic, and I think some still are made in Ohio, although the verbiage on their site is cryptic at best and Maine just "designed" in Ohio?

Rocky Forge Steel Toe Waterproof Work Boot

These are the boots that split after 9 months.

The boots split when I was getting out of a milk truck on a rainy night and I was cheesed off that my foot was wet the rest of the night and I was out a pair of boots.

The label on the inside of the tongue says made in China, so I'm not sure where they were made. Not down the road in Nelsonville, that is for sure.

I have a pair of red wings that are still waterproof and structurally sound after two years.

Myself, I have bought only one pair of the rockys with those dammed "molded onto the boot" soles. And I gave them away within a month. If I wanted molded soles, I will buy tenners!

Horkn I found some rocky cornstalkers (almost all leather, but all brown) this weekend for $110 on clearance priced.

Every other pair I bought have been the stitched on soles....(maybe they're called Goodyear welt soles?)
