I talked with Scotty Overkill and I got the green light.

My cousin and her hubby sell firewood. He gets it from a tree trimmer and splits it and seasons it. Good stuff too.

The only issue I see is a cord is officially 4 by 4 by 8.

I don't claim to be an expert on cords. I copied all of that from their website. Which is here:

Not a full cord but a "face" cord.. Multiply that price times 3 for real cord cost..

They don't specify face cord is my point. Secondly some states have actual laws and definitions somewhere. Usually the weights and measures bureau. A lot of times they will say things like firewood can only be sold in cords and fractions thereof. Just don't want to see the people get screwed.

anyone know the origin of 4x4x8 = cord? Any correlation to an 8' pickup bed?

Think the cord thing is what the concern is Chuck. By definition a cord is 4'x4'x8' or 128 cu. ft. What is described on their site is commonly called a face cord or 1/3rd of a cord.. Babaganoosh's choice of words weren't the best and I think he meant no harm..

Yeah, I meant that I didn't want to see them get screwed when someone takes them to court over the whole cord definition. it's not probable but it is possible.

For some reason I recall someone once referred to a rik or rick as a measure.. Is this the same as a face cord? Just curious..

Some people here in Michigan will specify face cord and that's cool, if they're selling face cords they should state face chords.
Unfortunately many people here in Michigan do not specify if they're selling face cord or full cord, so if you see an ad here in Michigan you have to assume that it is a face cord, so you usually have to ask to be sure.
It's just the way it is here, some people don't even know what you're talking about if you asked them if it is a face cord or a full cord,, I guess they think a face cord is a cord of wood
